Technical Support FAQs

Accounts & Login

What is my ANGEL username and password?
Your ANGEL username is the same username as your Ole Miss email account.  Your default password is your student number without the leading zero.

How do I retrieve my username and/or password?
Simply click on the “I Forgot My Password” link on the login page and enter your Ole Miss email address.

Why does ANGEL tell me my session has expired and I need to reauthenticate when I try to log in?
This Internet Explorer problem can usually be solved by adding http://angel.olemiss.edu to your browser’s “trusted sites” list, which is located on the privacy tab of Internet Options. For more information please consult the Help feature on Internet Explorer.

Why is my ANGEL account disabled?
When a semester ends, you no longer have access to your online course. The Ole Miss Online Office also disables your account.  Your account will be reactivated approximately one week before your next online course begins.

How do I change my password?
After a successful login, you can change your password by clicking on the wrench icon on the left navigation menu, then select "Change Password."

Viewing Contents and Grades

I enter an online course but I am seeing the content from another course. What can I do to fix it?
Avoid opening multiple browser windows of ANGEL at the same time. You should also clear the browser cache and restart the browser.

Why am I having difficulty seeing certain parts of my lessons?
It’s important to be sure that your web browser (Internet Explorer, etc.) is configured properly. Be sure that Javascript is enabled, cookies are accepted, and that you are not blocking pop-ups. For instructions on making these adjustments, consult your software’s help features. If you have any additional toolbars installed (Yahoo, MSN, or Google toolbar), you may need to turn off their pop-up blocking functions as well.

I cannot view PowerPoint lectures in my online course. What should I do?
Different technologies are used to deliver PowerPoint–based lectures. You need to make sure that the following plug-ins are installed on your computer: Flash Player, Java, and Wither PowerPoint or PowerPoint Viewer.

How do I view my grades in the course?
Your grades are available under the "Reports" tab. If you cannot see a grade for any assignment, please contact your instructor.

I do not see my online course on the ANGEL homepage when I log in.  How do I make it appear?
You need to do nothing. Your online course(s) will appear on your ANGEL homepage on the first day of the semester.

I do not see lesson content for the week. What should I do?
You need to contact your instructor. He/She can make lesson content available.
