Students graduating from this program will earn a master’s degree in Elementary K-6.

Online M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction Curriculum
The Ole Miss School of Education structures the online M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction to be completed in five semesters. Our esteemed faculty teach all online courses, which use an asynchronous format to fit into your busy schedule. Along with all online coursework, you’ll complete 45 clock hours of field-based learning opportunities as well as illustrate the culmination of your knowledge with a capstone project during your final semester.
Completion of the M.Ed. does not lead to initial licensure for programs in the Department of Teacher Education.
During this comprehensive, rigorous, and rewarding program, you’ll:
- Examine advanced learning theories and education practices rooted in psychology, neuroscience, anthropology, and critical theories;
- Gain stronger curriculum development and evaluation and test-conducting techniques;
- Learn to meet students’ diverse needs through instruction, considering content, learning processes, learning profile, and student readiness;
- Cultivate stronger leadership skills to nurture and advocate for your students and promote a school environment encouraging growth among students and staff;
- Acquire skills for researching and testing elementary education curriculum, including literacy;
- Explore issues, purposes, and techniques involved in teaching elementary-level social studies and mathematics; and
- Learn pedagogical methods to encourage wellness and physical activity within your classroom and the student body as a whole.

Admission Requirements
Ready to take the next step and motivate your classroom with curriculums that instruct, inform, and engage? The School of Education requires:
- An undergraduate degree in Elementary, Secondary, Special, or Early Childhood Education or a closely related field from an accredited institution;
- A 3.0 GPA from the last 60 hours of undergraduate work;
- One of the following: a teaching license or eligibility to hold a license OR results from a national standardized achievement/aptitude test, which includes but is not limited to: Passing Score on Praxis II Content Field, Passing Score on Praxis II PLT, or competitive Graduate Record Examination Scores (GRE: all sections);
- Two (2) Graduate Reference Forms.
